What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the service that stores your website’s files on a server that is connected to the internet all the time, so people can visit your site. A hosting plan also gives you email accounts, databases and a control panel to manage it all.
What is the difference between a domain and hosting?
Your domain is your address, such as yourbusiness.co.za. Hosting is where the website and email for that address live. You need both. Our Unlimited plans include a free .co.za domain, and you can register any domain separately.
How much does web hosting cost in South Africa?
Our paid web hosting starts at R39 a month (Silver), and there is a free plan too. The Unlimited plan, which includes a free .co.za domain, is R149 a month or R1,490 a year.
Which control panel do you use?
Every plan uses cPanel, the most widely used hosting control panel. You can manage files, email accounts, databases, DNS and backups, and install WordPress and other apps with Softaculous.
Is SSL included?
Yes. Every hosting plan includes free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates, issued and renewed automatically. If you need a paid certificate, we also sell RapidSSL.
Can I set up email on my hosting?
Yes. Every plan includes email accounts on your own domain (5 on Free, 10 on Silver, 50 on Gold and unlimited on the Unlimited plans). You can use webmail or connect Outlook, Gmail or your phone. For larger teams, see email hosting.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. You can move up to a bigger plan from the client area at any time, and your website and email move with you.
Do I pay monthly or annually?
