My Website Is Down - What to Do

Last updated 6 June 2026

Troubleshooting a Website Outage

If your website is not loading, work through these steps to identify and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check If It Is Just You

Visit downforeveryoneorjustme.com and enter your domain. If the site says it is up, the issue may be with your internet connection or browser cache.

Step 2: Clear Your Browser Cache

Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to do a hard refresh. Alternatively, open an incognito/private browser window and try again.

Step 3: Check Your DNS Settings

If you recently changed nameservers or DNS records, the issue may be propagation delay (up to 48 hours). Check status at dnschecker.org.

Step 4: Check Your cPanel for Errors

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Check Error Logs (in the Metrics section)
  3. Look for recent errors that may indicate the cause

Step 5: Check Your Hosting Account Status

  1. Log in to your client area
  2. Go to Services > My Services
  3. Check that your hosting account shows as Active
  4. If it shows as Suspended, there may be an outstanding invoice

Step 6: Contact Our Support Team

If the issue persists, open a support ticket with the following information:

  • Your domain name
  • When the issue started
  • Any error messages you are seeing
