How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication in cPanel

Last updated 6 June 2026

Securing Your cPanel Account with Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) on cPanel adds an extra layer of security to your hosting account, requiring both your password and a one-time code from your phone.

How to Enable 2FA in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. In the Security section, click Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
  4. Install an authenticator app on your phone if you haven't already (Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator)
  5. Scan the QR code displayed on screen with your authenticator app
  6. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app
  7. Click Configure Two-Factor Authentication

Logging In With 2FA Enabled

After enabling 2FA, every cPanel login requires:

  1. Your username and password
  2. The current 6-digit code from your authenticator app

Lost Access to Your Authenticator App?

If you lose your phone or cannot access your authenticator app, open a support ticket with proof of identity and we will assist with resetting 2FA on your account.
