Creating WordPress Backups
Via UpdraftPlus Plugin
- Install UpdraftPlus from WordPress plugins
- Go to Settings > UpdraftPlus Backups
- Click Backup Now for manual backup or configure automatic scheduled backups to Google Drive, Dropbox etc
Via cPanel Full Backup
- cPanel > Files > Backup
- Download a Full Account Backup
- Select Home Directory, enter email, click Generate Backup
- Download when ready
How Often?
- Daily for active blogs and e-commerce sites
- Weekly for static sites
- Always before major updates or changes
